Projects and chats
The sidebar groups conversations by project, or lists every chat by date. ⌘B shows or hides it.

Projects
Section titled “Projects”A project is a name and a set of source folders. The first folder is the main folder, and that’s where its conversations run.
- Create one with the
+next to Projects in the sidebar, or the project button above the composer → New project. Name it and add folders. - Project instructions: put a
LYRA.md(orAGENTS.md, orCLAUDE.md) in the project and it’s included in every conversation. - Right-click a project to start a conversation in it, pin it, edit it, show it in your file manager, archive its conversations, or remove it.
Removing a project only takes it off the list. Its conversations are archived, and nothing on disk is touched.
Conversations
Section titled “Conversations”- Titles: a short title comes from your first message; for longer messages the model writes a better one. Turn that off under Settings → General → Automatic chat titles if you’d rather not spend the tokens.
- Hover a row for the pin and archive buttons. Pause on it and a card shows the full title, folder and usage.
- Right-click to pin, rename, archive, move to another project, copy the working directory or a deep link, or open it in split view or a new window.
- Delete by archiving first, then deleting from the archive list or Settings → Archived chats. Deleting can’t be undone.
- Status marks show when a chat is working, waiting on you, finished but unread, or failed but unread. If Lyra isn’t in front when a task finishes, you get a system notification that opens the chat.
Sorting
Section titled “Sorting”The sidebar’s List settings offers Recently updated, Recently created and Manual order. Dragging a project or conversation switches to manual order; press Esc mid-drag to cancel.
